Being born in the league

Being born in the league is a blessing. The likes of Federer, Nadal are as if they have been born to play tennis. While any activity can be picked up through sheer practice, but to have the true talent is a blessing, they say a genius is born. Inborn talent comes out even if not nurtured, and shows it off to the world the skill that he/she possess. I am sure even the geniuses would have gone through moments of doubt, hesitancy, but the time-line of being sidelined would have been very minimal. Similar analogies can be drawn in the field of scientific inventions, politics, arts. It is a rare precious moment that you get to work with such greats, even if you come across one, I suspect it would be for a very short while. But if you have it in you, you can sail along with them and enjoy being compared to the greats in your field, which means you possess all the great qualities that these cherished men/women possess.

Does it take long enough to succeed

I am amazed by the likes of Tendulkars, Anands, Aamirs, they have made it. Yes they have really made it through hard work, dedication, commitment and ever undying enthusiasm. I am at a stage where I am starting my career, actually orienting in an appropriate direction. I was reading an article where Real Madrid paid around $80M to buy Chritiano Ronaldo from Man United. Man what skills must he possess for to claim such a huge sum of money. I am sure Microsoft and Google must be paying crazy amounts to buy the hard core techies to boost their business. I need to pull up my socks and really start firing, already its late, but its never too late. After a momentary lapse, I am trying to turnaround my career, and the price for the lapse seem to be too harsh for me to pay the society and the environment. After every jittery moment, the real character comes out, let me see what lies ahead of me. At the moment, I have a hard road to cross.

I am finding it hard to sell than ever before

This is definitely the most difficult phase of my career. I am finding it hard to sell than ever before. I keep making those sales calls but then its difficult initially to build a reputation. I wonder how Bill Gates was at ease in building Microsoft. He had a hobby in him, programming which he translated to something commercial.Google and Yahoo were incubated at Stanford and they scaled high ever since without looking back. Even yahoo was started as a hobby project which was translated to something commercial. I definitely wish I have the answers to what needs to be done.

Definition of education

There are a lot of formal definition of education as is available on the web. True education doesn't stop with school, it is a continuous learning. Improper education will render the individual helpless, and it shows off in the loss of power, status and dignity. Education is freedom after all, and a habit will have to be inculcated in the individual to continuously learn, unlearn and relearn. When things are looking down is when the true character of the self gets revealed. Character is the moral imprinting of the soul-mind, will and emotions with personal integrity and consistency in word and deed, means and ends, beliefs and behaviors. The other day I was having a discussion with my friends about what education is all about, it doesn't lie in the degrees, yes it helps in the form of a formal education, but the whole purpose is served only when it is executed properly. Education has to grow the mind with new ideas and understandings.

Lean patch

Going through a lean patch is very common in life. The better part would be to be under the shelter or protection to overcome the hurdle else you are left exposed. The latter is good in some sense as the learning is high but takes a lot of time to heal. The former gives you the leeway to be under the shadows of more knowledgeable people around.

Building from scratch

Building something from scratch involves a lot of effort. As there is a saying, a good product sells by itself, but services businesses are difficult to sell and involves lot of promotion.

Immigration and citizenship

Staying in status used to be the biggest problem, and it is still. I can't imagine the freedom, citizenship and immigration will give me, as it is boundless and there aren't any limits. Even without it, I don't see any problems as there are always options to rely upon.

Body building

Body building used to be my passion a few years back and I did pretty well. I headed to the gym thrice a week continuously for around 3-4 years and saw decent results. Off late I am finding myself so lazy (not occupied), that I haven't stepped into the gym even for a run. My ligament tear while playing soccer made matters worse, that even after undergoing physiotherapy for 6 months, still I couldn't recover. I am able to run fast, do all sort of things, but to go beyond with full energy into a game, I find it tedious as it wouldn't hold up. Finally I have decided that surgery is the only way out to get me out of this situation and spice up my sports life.
